The Sun Air of Scandinavia pet policy for 2024 includes options for flying with dogs and cats in the cabin, but not in the hold. Sun Air is the Scandinavian partner of British Airways (BA). Details of the Sun Air pet travel policy for international and transatlantic flights with your cat or dog are included. You can check out reviews for Sun Air Airlines by fellow pet travellers to find out what the Sun Air pet travel policy is like in practice. When flying with your pet in either the cabin or with Sun Air your cat or dog must be able to move around within their carrier, and they have to travel with an adult passenger. The price for flying your pet in the Sun Air cabin is a flat rate. Also note that Sun Air pet travel rules do not permit cats or dogs on certain flights, or to specific international destinations. Certain dog breeds are not permitted to travel in the cabin, regardless of their weight. Assistance & Service Dogs fly free of charge with Sun Air, but Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are subject to the standard pet policy. Read on for full details of the Sun Air pet policy 2024.

Does Sun Air allow cats & dogs to fly in the cabin?
Pets are accepted to fly in the cabin by Sun Air in their travel bag, up to a combined weight of 6 kg.
In addition to the standard EU regulations for pet travel in Europe, you must also adhere to the following:
- Pets must be carried breathable bag, not a hard container
- The pet carrier may be no bigger than 20 x 30 x 20 cm (this is super small!)
- Both your pet and the bag together must weigh 6 kg or less
- Your cat or dog must be able to stand upright in the bag
- Pets must also be able to turn around and lie in a natural position
- Only one cat or dog is allowed per bag and per person
Only one pet is allowed in the cabin of each Sun-Air flight.
Of course, you can’t fly to the United Kingdom with a pet in the cabin due to regulations in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but unfortunately, Sun-Air doesn’t allow cats or dogs to travel in the cabin on flights from the UK either as these flights are operated by British Airways. Thankfully, there are other airlines that do offer this option.
Sun Air pet in cabin price

Does Sun Air allow cats and dogs in the hold?
As with British Airways, no animals are allowed to travel in Sun Air’s cargo hold.
Sun Air Policy for Assistance & Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)
If you’re travelling with an Emotional Support Animal (ESA), your dog or cat will be subject to Sun Air‘s standard rules for pets flying in the cabin. Only certified, professionally trained Service & Assistance Dogs can fly in the cabin for free with Sun Air. As Psychiatric Service Dogs are trained to perform a specific task for their owner, they are welcome to travel free of charge in the Sun Air cabin.
Always protect your pet against vector-borne diseases in a foreign country, and remember to leave a review if you fly your cat or dog with Sun Air!
